The Women's Clinic includes gynecological outpatient care, delivery department, antenatal department, maternity/gyn department, specialist maternity care/ultrasound clinic, postpartum clinic, patient hotel, and social work. The gynecological clinic is located in modern and bright premises with close collaboration with other units within women's healthcare. We conduct both planned outpatient services and emergency services for acute patients, as well as day care and abortion services. We also perform gynecological treatments and outpatient procedures under local anesthesia, and are responsible for telephone counseling within the specialty.

As a healthcare assistant in the gynecological clinic, you will be responsible for caring for patients who come for scheduled and urgent visits to doctors, midwives, or urotherapists. This includes:

• sample collection and preparation for visits
• care after visits according to prescription or care program
• assessment and sample collection of patients seeking urgent care
• assisting doctors and midwives during examinations and treatments
• patient information prior to specific sample collections
• work in the operating room during gynecological treatments
• reception work

The work is varied and spans both planned and urgent interventions.

Requirements:

Information about the Job Title

As of July 1, 2023, the title healthcare assistant is a protected job title (https://legitimation.socialstyrelsen.se/underskoterska-blir-en-skyddad-yrkestitel/). This means you need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title healthcare assistant within healthcare and social services.

You can apply for the certificate from July 1, 2023. If you do not have a certificate, you can continue to work in healthcare and social services, but with a different title than healthcare assistant. For those offered a job with us in Region Dalarna after July 1, the title in your employment contract will be Care Assistant until you can present your certificate. If you had a permanent position with the title healthcare assistant when the new regulations came into effect on July 1, 2023, you can continue to use the title for 10 years. You can retain the title even if you change workplace/employer after July 1. After that, you will need a certificate of protected job title to use the title healthcare assistant.
